Chelsea Whiz and His 6ft 7in Brother Are Chasing Sporting History.

Here's a story you don't hear every day. Brothers Landon and Sebastien Emenelo are trying to become the first siblings to play in the Premier League and NBA at the same time. Talk about overachieving families.

Their dad? That's Michael Emenelo, who spent years at Chelsea as both a coach and executive. If that name sounds familiar, it should - he's a legend in football circles.

Landon, just 18 years old, is currently on Chelsea's books at Stamford Bridge. The Arizona-born teenager has already represented England at youth level and plays left-back, the exact same position his dad played for Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup.

And before you think this is just nepotism, think again. Landon has trained with Chelsea's first team under Enzo Maresca, Liam Rosenior, and even Mauricio Pochettino. That's serious progress for a young player.

This season, he's been in the first team squad for matches against Liverpool and Pafos. Last season, he made the bench in the Conference League quarter-finals. He's also been dominating for Chelsea's Under-21s in Premier League 2 - playing three years above his age group.

International Tug of War Brewing

Landon could have his pick of national teams. He's earned five England caps at Under-18 level and played three times for the United States Under-17s. He could even follow his dad's path and suit up for Nigeria, where Michael earned 14 caps for the Super Eagles in the 1990s.

Chelsea clearly believe in his potential. They just handed him a massive five-year contract extension running until 2031. That's the kind of commitment that shows the club sees him as part of their long-term future, which could be significant for punters eyeing Chelsea's academy talent development.

Last season, Landon made his ambitions crystal clear: "My goal is to play senior football for Chelsea and I'm doing everything I can to get there."

The Basketball Brother

Meanwhile, older brother Sebastien took a completely different path. At 19 years old and standing 6ft 7in tall, Seb is now a freshman playing Division 1 college basketball at Loyola.

While Landon stands at 5ft 11in, Sebastien's height made him a natural goalkeeper as a kid. But he eventually fell in love with basketball after watching LeBron James in the 2017 NBA Finals and made the switch.

Sebastien played academy basketball for Surrey Rams and Thames Valley Cavaliers while attending school in Cobham. After a stint in Romania, he moved to the NBA Academy in Canberra, Australia, before committing to Loyola.

This season, he's averaging 3.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 14.5 minutes per game across 31 appearances. Loyola has a solid track record of producing NBA talent - both Santi Aldama and Cam Spencer of the Memphis Grizzlies attended the school.

The sporting genes run deep in this family. Their mother Erin was also an elite athlete who earned All-American honors as a goalkeeper at the University of Portland. She went on to play for the Washington Freedom, the first ever professional women's soccer team in the United States.

Michael now works as a director of football for the Saudi Pro League. Both parents will be watching closely as their teenage sons chase their Premier League and NBA dreams in the coming years.
