How to Watch the 2026 World Cup in 4K: Every Option Worth Knowing.

All 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup will be available in 4K. If you're in the U.S., you're actually in a strong position — FOX paid close to half a billion dollars for exclusive rights and it's pushing the full UHD experience across every single game.

The tournament kicks off June 11, spread across 16 venues in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Messi's Argentina defending, Mbappé's France hunting, Ronaldo's Portugal hoping — six weeks of football you don't want to watch in anything less than crystal-clear resolution if you can help it.

Your 4K streaming options in the U.S.

FOX covers 70 matches, FS1 handles the other 34. If you already have cable and a 4K TV, you're sorted. No cable? FOX One, their streaming platform, carries every game in 4K from $19.99/month, with a 3-day free trial to get started.

Want something more comprehensive? YouTube TV's Sports Plan at $64.99/month includes local FOX channels and FS1 — but you'll need the 4K Plus add-on at an extra $9.99/month to unlock UHD. The upside: YouTube TV offers a 21-day free trial, meaning you could watch a significant chunk of the group stage without spending a penny.

  • Fubo — from $56/month, 4K capable, discount on first month, free trial available
  • DirecTV — from $65/month, 4K capable, discount on first month, free trial available
  • Sling TV — from $19.99/month (Select) or $45.99/month (Blue), FOX and FS1 included, 4K unconfirmed at time of writing
  • Tubi — free, simulcasting the opening ceremony plus Mexico vs South Africa and USA vs Paraguay in 4K

Two caveats worth flagging: Hulu + Live TV carries FOX and FS1 but only in HD. Peacock streams every match in Spanish, also HD only. Neither will give you 4K.

Native 4K or upscaled?

Honest answer: probably upscaled. FOX appears to be scaling up from 1080p to UHD — the same approach it used for Super Bowl LIX — rather than broadcasting in native 4K. FIFA hasn't officially confirmed either way. It'll still look sharp on a quality screen, but purists should know what they're getting.

For the best experience with minimum lag, a TV antenna picking up local FOX broadcasts over-the-air will outperform any streaming option. Over-the-air signals carry less delay than 4K streams. If that's not an option, a 4K-compatible device — Apple TV 4K, Fire TV Stick, or a Roku with UHD support — paired with any of the services above will do the job.

Outside the U.S., confirmed 4K coverage is thin. BBC, ITV, and TSN in Canada are expected to offer UHD but haven't officially committed. The only broadcaster outside FOX to unequivocally confirm 4K coverage so far is Now TV in Hong Kong. If you're travelling during June and July, a VPN connecting through your home country's servers is the cleanest workaround for regional restrictions on your usual stream.
