KSI Takes Over Dagenham & Redbridge FC and Launches 'Welcome to Wrexham' Style Docuseries.

Remember how Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney turned Wrexham into a global phenomenon with their Disney+ series? Well, British YouTuber KSI is taking a page from that playbook with his own football club takeover story.

The influencer and Britain's Got Talent judge (real name Olajide Olatunji) just acquired a minority stake in Dagenham & Redbridge FC. The club currently plays in the National League South, which is the sixth tier of English football. That's actually one level lower than where Wrexham was when the Hollywood duo bought them back in 2021.

And here's the exciting part: KSI isn't just buying the club. He's documenting the whole journey in a new docuseries called 'Race to the Top.' The show will follow his ambitious plan to take the Daggers all the way up to the Premier League.

YouTube Launch This Summer

The series will debut this summer on KSI's YouTube channel, which has a massive 17 million subscribers. Across all his social platforms, he can reach about 33.5 million people. That's serious exposure for a sixth-tier club that most casual football fans have never heard of.

The docuseries will run through the 2026/27 season and get dubbed into 14 different languages. Fans will get unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to boardroom meetings, fan reactions, and all the drama that comes with running a non-league club in modern football.

For betting enthusiasts, this takeover could make Dagenham matches far more interesting to follow. The increased attention and potential investment might improve their odds for promotion from the National League South, though climbing from the sixth tier to the Premier League would be an unprecedented achievement requiring multiple successive promotions.

Full Circle Moment

KSI is reuniting with director Ben Doyle (aka RVBBERDUCK) who previously made 'KSI: Can't Lose,' the documentary about his boxing career. Doyle will capture every high and low of this new football adventure.

'This is a really big deal for me,' KSI said. 'For the fans who've been with me since 'Race to Division One,' it's a full-circle moment.' He's referencing his old YouTube series where he played FIFA's career mode, dreaming about managing a football club.

Production is already underway. KSI will attend his first match as an owner this Saturday when Dagenham faces Dorking Wanderers. Cameras will be rolling to capture every moment of this ambitious journey from non-league football to potential Premier League glory.
