"How many likes to post his Raya profile." That's the line that ended Christian Pulisic's relationship — at least publicly. No press statement, no Instagram story. Just four words in a comment section that went everywhere.

Alexa Melton posted golf photos. Routine stuff. Then a fan dropped the phrase "generational fumble" in the comments, implying Pulisic blew it. Instead of scrolling past, Melton replied directly — and in doing so, confirmed the split while simultaneously suggesting the USMNT captain may already be swiping on a dating app for celebrities.

From documentary sweethearts to comment section shade

The contrast with where they were just months ago is stark. In a 2025 Paramount Plus documentary, both of them spoke openly about how it started. Pulisic: "I slid in the DMs as they call it." Melton recalled seeing the notification and Googling who he was — 8 million followers, big-time soccer player, okay then.

He called her "a really special girl" and talked about a shift in his mindset and faith leading him to her. That's the kind of quote that sounds meaningful when things are good and lands differently when someone's hinting at posting your dating profile.

Neither has made a formal statement. They don't need to now.

Not a great time off the pitch for Pulisic

This is all happening while things on the field aren't going smoothly either. Pulisic has gone 12 games without scoring for AC Milan, and his last international goal came in November 2024. For a player who carries significant responsibility in both club and country setups, that's a drought that matters — especially with a summer tournament approaching where the US will need him producing, not just participating.

He also had to deal with fabricated rumors linking him to Sydney Sweeney in December, which he shut down publicly on Instagram: "Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people's lives."

Those were fake. This one isn't. Melton said what she said.
