Jadon Sancho has no club, no imminent deal, and — according to those close to him — no real interest in heading to Russia. The Krasnodar links that circulated recently? Those conversations came from intermediaries, not Sancho's camp. He wasn't seriously considering it.
That clears up one lane. The rest of the picture is messier. The 26-year-old has held talks with clubs across Saudi Arabia, MLS, Qatar, and the UAE, plus sides in Germany, France, and Spain — and none of those conversations have produced anything close to an agreement. Cesc Fabregas' Como also looked at him. That's going nowhere either.
The Dortmund door is closed, for now
The option Sancho genuinely wanted was a return to Borussia Dortmund, where he produced some of the best football of his career during his first spell. Niko Kovac is reportedly an admirer. But Dortmund have moved on — signing Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri on loan effectively ended that conversation before it got started.
That's the real setback here. Not the noise around Russia or the Saudi interest. Sancho had a preferred destination, and it shut the door on him. Everything else is a fallback.
So he's waiting. Training with a non-league club in Manchester to stay sharp, letting his representatives work the market, and holding out for a project that actually makes sense rather than grabbing the first contract that arrives. The plan — if you can call it that — is to stay patient through the autumn and potentially into the January window if nothing convincing emerges before then.
What this means in betting terms
His next destination odds will be volatile until something concrete emerges. Right now the spread of options is wide enough that pricing any single move is guesswork. Germany makes the most sporting sense given his profile and age, but the financial pull of Saudi and MLS is real — especially for a player who generated zero fee when he left United.
Sancho will be 27 in January. He's got the talent. The question is whether the right club exists in a market that's already largely set its squads for the season.
