Flamengo President Claims They Could Hire Klopp in Stunning Managerial Move.

Jurgen Klopp's name is being thrown around again. This time, it's coming from Brazil.

Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista has made a bold claim. He says the Brazilian giants could go after a top European manager like Klopp if their current boss Filipe Luis decides to leave.

Luis only signed a contract extension last December. But the former Chelsea defender has been linked with moves back to Europe. That's got Flamengo's president thinking big about potential replacements.

Baptista pointed to Lucas Paqueta's recent move from West Ham to Flamengo as proof they can attract top names. "If I can bring in Lucas Paquetá, why couldn't I bring in Klopp?" he told AS.

What's Klopp Doing Now?

Klopp hasn't managed a team since leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season. He's not sitting idle though.

The German legend took a job as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer in January 2025. That move raised eyebrows since Red Bull owns multiple clubs around the world. It's something Klopp previously spoke out against.

Real Madrid has also been linked with Klopp recently. After Xabi Alonso left earlier this season, speculation went wild about who might take over long-term. For now, Alvaro Arbeloa is in charge at the Bernabeu.

Will Klopp Ever Manage Again?

Here's the thing. Klopp seems pretty happy where he is right now.

"I love what I do now," he said last October. "I don't miss coaching. I don't miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours."

The 58-year-old was brutally honest about not missing press conferences and endless interviews. After coaching over 1,080 games, he's earned a break from the touchline stress.

But he's keeping the door open. "I could make a decision in a few years," Klopp admitted. "I will not coach again, but thank God I do not have to do that."

For betting markets on next manager appointments, Klopp remains a fascinating wildcard. Any club linked with him will see their odds shift dramatically. But right now, a return to management seems unlikely despite what Flamengo's president might hope.
